TS-2500

The TS-2500 is our most versatile power-driven elevator system. Designed for trouble free operation, the TS-2500 allows safe and easy access to your instrumentation in severe weather and high wind conditions. Sensitive instrument packages can always be lowered to ground level for safe and effective maintenance.

The TS-2500 utilizes automatic electrical connector assemblies for a maximum of four instrument levels on towers up to 150 meters in height. The female end of the connector assembly is firmly mounted to the tower at the desired height. It is inverted and recessed ensuring protection from the weather. The male end of the connector assembly is mounted in a spring-loaded housing attached to the carriage and your instruments. The MIL-SPEC connectors are gold plated silver ensuring positive, trouble-free electrical connection every time. Electronically operated limit switches at each instrument level stops the elevator automatically at the prescribed height.

Data from the instruments travels via multi-pair signal cables to a heated NEMA enclosure at the tower base. Twelve or nineteen pair cables with individually shielded pairs are totally enclosed in conduit for complete environmental protection. Identical multi-pair test cables are provided for calibrating and testing your instruments while they are at ground level.

Rigid tubular rails coupled with our unique carriage rollers provide a highly stable platform. Three aluminum rollers spaced 120 degrees on each comer of the carriage provide smooth and secure travel along the rails. The carriages can be quickly removed from the drive cable by removing two individual clamps with a single ½" wrench.

A 115 or 230 volt electrically reversible winch provides positive drive up and down through an endless loop of flexible aircraft cable. The unique Tower Systems stainless steel double drum winch provides the necessary "grip" for complete control and safety. An automatic spring-loaded tensioner as well as a manual tensioner maintain cable tension. These devices are always located at the tower base ensuring full-time accessibility.

An optional electric brake is also available. This "fail safe" brakes releases only upon application of power and ensures that your instrument packages remain at the proper level.

All components are highly resistant to the effects of harsh environments:

  • Aluminum rollers on the carriage ride on stainless steel shafts.
  • Sheaves are stainless steel with maintenance-free sealed bearings.
  • All mounting hardware is stainless steel.
  • Aluminum components are made from type 6061 -T6, a highly corrosive resistant material.
  • The double drum winch is made from stainless steel and anodized aluminum.

The carriage rollers are partially enclosed to prevent

  • ice buildup and allow free travel in severe weather.
  • An optional de-icer kit is available on request
